Treasure Your History

Treasure Your History was an eight-week intergeneration film project funded by Awards For All. Young people worked with elderly people to deliver short films that celebrates their history and diversity. Each participant had completed their first film and tried out every aspect of filmmaking.

10 and 11-year-old children from Middle Row Primary School, Kensington and Chelsea made Welcome to England with African and Caribbean people from the Pepper Pot Day Centre under the Westway, W10. The film focuses on the older people’s experiences of moving to England, and how this helped to shape their communities.

In Haringey 10 and 11-year-old children from Campsbourne Primary School, Hornsey made The War Years with local elderly people. The film focuses on the older people’s experiences of World War II.
