Dominoes

Up-cycled domino miniature art pieces.

Painted straight onto dominoes and seal with an epoxy resin which gives each piece a high gloss finish.

Here are a collection of varied styles.

Each domino is made into pendants, brooches or art miniature objects.

Miniature art has been around for years and became most popular during 15th – 16th century. A miniature must be small enough to hold in the palm of your hand. They were once used like a photograph, as they were easily transportable. Royal marriage negotiations took place only after the study of a miniature portrait painting of the potential bride. Miniatures were also given as tokens of friendship, loyalty and love.

“Artists should wear only clothes of silk and they should not speak or even breath over their work to avoid sparkling a spittle” Nicholas Hilliard. Absolutely Nicholas… I couldn’t agree with you more!!
